2003 50th ANNIVERSARY
PACE CAR
It is finally here – the one and only 50th Anniversary Corvette. I donated an unprecedented amount of money to the National Corvette Museum to buy the VIN#1953, the first year Corvette was born. This VIN#, along with my two matching VIN# cars, makes this a threesome to keep together.
The 50th was built in both a coupe and a convertible and this 6-speed option was the most popular. I ordered the Pace Decal Kit through GM parts and was one of the few to do so. There is no way to find out how many were ordered, but have you seen another one?
This also marked the fifth year a Corvette was honored as an Indy Pace Car, and it made the laps on May 26th, 2002. This car had five miles on it when it was delivered to Ressler Chevrolet in January of 2003.
